Ruben Dario Taborda is currently Vice President, Enterprise Customers. Ruben Dario began his career with Johnson & Johnson 30 years ago. He has rotated 13 times across eight healthcare franchises spanning the consumer, pharmaceutical and medical device healthcare sectors. He has held diverse roles in Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Marketing and Sales Management. Key sales customers he has supported include Walmart, Publix, CVS, Rite Aid, AHOLD, Target, Costco, DeHaize, SuperValu and Kroger. Most recently, he served as the Group Chief Procurement Officer for Medical Devices and Supplier Diversity. In this role, Ruben Dario was responsible for driving value creation, innovation and supplier diversity across a $15 billion spend base. Under his leadership, J&J’s spend with diverse (minority and women owned) businesses grew over 20% in two years and passed the $1 billion mark in 2010. As a result, J&J was the first healthcare company to become one of 17 members of the prestigious Billion Dollar Round Table, which is comprised of corporations that spend over $1 billion annually with diverse suppliers.
Ruben Dario is a recipient of numerous supplier diversity awards from recognized institutions including the National Chambers of Commerce, American Association of Hispanic Healthcare Executives and National Minority and Women’s Business Enterprises. In 2013, he received Corporate Advocate of the Year from the US Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.
Ruben Dario earned his MBA from Fuqua’s Executive MBA program in 1994 and his BA in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University in 1986. He also holds a Master of Science in Manufacturing Management from the Kettering Institute in Michigan. He was born in Medellin, Colombia and raised in Miami, Florida.
