WASHINGTON, DC–(Marketwired – November 07, 2016) – The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce that Don Salazar, President & CEO of Creative Times Inc. (CTI), has been inducted as the association’s new Chairman of the Board of Directors. Don accepted the new position at the organization’s National Convention on October 11th, 2016. His term of leadership will last two years.
Raymond Arroyo, Managing Director & Head of the Diversity Practice at Reffett Associates and outgoing Chairman, will continue serving on the Board of Directors as a voting member. Peter Villegas, Vice President of Latin Affairs at The Coca-Cola Company, will assume Don’s previous position as Chair-Elect.
“We are thrilled to be under the stewardship of none other than Don Salazar. Don is illustrative of the things we stand for, as he has always been a hard-working leader willing to think outside of the box,” said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “From founding Creative Times Inc., to being a key player in getting us to host our National Convention in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2014, Don has proven himself to be a trailblazer. Additionally, he was one of our most ardent advocates for gender parity at the highest level of our association. The USHCC thanks Raymond Arroyo for his stellar leadership as the previous Chairman, and is ready to serve at the pleasure of its new Chairman, Don Salazar.”
“I thank my fellow Board Members and the entirety of the USHCC for the tremendous honor of being inaugurated as Chairman of the Board,” said USHCC Chairman Don Salazar. “Under my term, the USHCC will continue to advocate on behalf of its members, so that bridges are built between corporate America and the Hispanic small business community. Having finally accomplished an equal amount of men and women on our board, we will keep advancing gender parity and multiculturalism, both within our organization, and across the globe.”
In addition to his leadership at CTI Construction and the USHCC, Don serves on the board of the Utah Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Advisory Board for Zions Bank, one of the oldest bank institutions in Utah. He previously served as Chair of the Ogden Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, as past President of Northern Utah Public Employees Association, and on the governor-appointed State Council on Workforce Services, the Weber State University National Advisory Board, and the Weber State University Arts and Humanities Board.
