We wish him the very best in all his future endeavours. Ralph’s extraordinary personal journey and his legacy at AT&T are an inspiration to all Americans, and will be celebrated for years to come.”

Mr. De la Vega was born in Cuba and immigrated to the United States at a young age. He rose through the ranks at AT&T, eventually serving as one of the company’s top executives. Ralph was an early proponent of wireless connectivity, and spearheaded an agreement with Apple’s Steve Jobs, which granted AT&T exclusivity as a carrier for the iPhone. Recently, Ralph led AT&T’s initiatives on the “Internet of Things” such as “smart” appliances and other non-traditional devices including cars and home automation systems.

Ralph serves on the boards of American Express Company, New York Life Insurance Company, and Morehouse College. He also serves as Chairman of All-Markets Initiatives for the Boy Scouts of America and is a member of the board of Junior Achievement Worldwide.

He has received numerous awards recognizing his leadership, including induction into the Atlanta Business Hall of Fame and the prestigious Global Innovation Award from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University.

On behalf of the entire USHCC team, we offer Ralph our heartfelt wishes for a happy and fulfilling retirement.
