WASHINGTON, D.C. – The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is pleased to announce a call to candidates from the local Hispanic chamber community to become a member of the USHCC Board of Directors, effective today. Through this nomination process, the USHCC seeks individuals who will work towards its mission of fostering economic development in the Hispanic business community and creating lasting partnerships with local chambers.
The USHCC is determined to ensure that all local chamber’s voices are heard. By working in concert with the Local Chamber Ad Hoc Committee, the recent changes to the bylaws announced by the Board of Directors now provide for six (6) local chamber leaders to come to the forefront of USHCC national leadership.
Members of the Local Chamber Ad Hoc Committee are as follows:

- President & CEO, Illinois Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

- President & CEO, Tucson Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

- President & CEO, Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of Louisiana
- Jennifer Rodriguez
- President & CEO, Greater Philadelphia Hispanic Chamber of Commerce
- Gilbert R. Vasquez
- Chairman, Los Angeles Latino Chamber of Commerce
While the application will be available for review beginning August 8th, 2018, submissions will not be received until August 10th, 2018, at 12:01 AM. Candidates are encouraged to utilize this period to submit any inquiries to applications@ushcc.com. Applications are due August 24, 2018, at 11:59PM EDT.
Upon the application cycle elapsing, the Local Chamber Ad Hoc Committee will assess nominees and submit top candidates to the current USHCC Board of Directors for approval. Chamber representation will be spread across various regions as defined by the updated USHCC bylaws, and are structured as follows:
Region 1: Alaska, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, Oregon, Washington
Region 2: Arizona, Colorado, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico,
North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming
Region 3: Arkansas, Kansas, Louisiana, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas
Region 4: Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Ohio, Wisconsin
Region 5: Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, Virginia, West Virginia
Region 6: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, North Carolina, Puerto Rico
South Carolina, Tennessee
