The United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) is proud to announce UPS as the nation’s top Employee Resource Group (ERG) during the 2017 USHCC Annual ERG Summit and Corporate Challenge in Dallas, TX. Shell and Southern California Edison are recognized with the second and third place, respectively.
The ERG Summit and Corporate Challenge brings together ERGs from across the nation to share best practices and provide compelling results on the value of diversity in corporate America, a key component of the USHCC’s National Convention. ERGs serve as a critical asset to corporations in their efforts to inform corporate strategies, develop talent, expand consumer segments, and recruit the best and brightest employees.
The Corporate Challenge is based on four key areas: career advancement of Hispanic professionals, alignment of ERG initiatives and corporate objectives, community involvement, and cultural advancement within the company.
“On behalf of our association, I am pleased to announce UPS as this year’s ERG Corporate Challenge winner,” said USHCC President & CEO Javier Palomarez. “UPS believes that diversity and inclusion are truly beneficial to business growth and community development. By ensuring that their company reflects the faces of the communities they wish to serve, UPS has proven that welcoming diversity is both the principled and profitable approach to conducting business today. It is for this reason that we are thrilled to recognize them as this year’s winner.”
“Our UPS Global Business Resource Group; Crecer had a great year and we were able to demonstrate a strong impact in the areas of developing our people, growing the business, highlighting the Latino culture and supporting our communities, said Gabriel Vaca, Director of Enterprise Accounts Sales – International Supply Chain and Logistics. “Winning this award has raised the bar in our company to inspire and empower employees through BRG-led integrated strategies that further UPS’ commitment to Diversity and Inclusion.”
Since the inaugural Summit and Corporate Challenge in 2010, many of America’s most iconic corporations have competed in this annual event, which strives to improve diversity in recruitment, retention, management, and talent development, as well as help companies reaches a wider range of consumer segments.
