USHCC Applauds the Increased Number of Women of Color in the Senate and House of Representatives

As we head into the 115th United States Congress, the USHCC is thrilled to celebrate the progress that our U.S. Congress has made in representing the ever-changing face of America. On November 8th, the number of women of color in the U.S. Senate quadrupled. Joining Senator Mazie Hirono (HI) will be Senator Tammy Duckworth (IL), Senator Kamala Harris (CA), and Senator Catherine Cortez Masto (NV).

Additionally, the U.S. House of Representatives added two women of color, Congresswoman Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), and Congresswoman Pramila Jayapala (WA-07). The USHCC looks forward to begin working with these new Senators and Congresswomen on issues that affect small business.

Our association is proud to recognize these victories and the barriers that were broken. We also particularly look forward to seeing this number increase with more trailblazing women in the years to come.
